As you now know, with the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria last week, many of our dear ministry partners suffered significant losses. To come alongside these partners, ReBridge has already sent $35,000 in emergency aid. We are already receiving reports of our partners, who have suffered loss themselves, serving others in their neighborhood. (see photos below) In order to expand this effort even more, the Lord has given us a two-pronged strategy for assisting our partners in the region moving forward:
1) Short term financial assistance. This immediate aid will enable our partners to live where they are, and to seek God’s direction for their future. With all of the loss, many of our partners are considering fleeing to Europe or the US. We believe it is critical to enable this remnant of
believers to “catch their breath”, wait for the Lord’s direction, and give them the opportunity to
experience what the Lord will do in the midst of all of this destruction. We are reminded of
Exodus 14:13 where the Israelites are trapped and the Lord says through Moses, “Fear not,
stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today…” We want to
help enable our partners to stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord in Turkey and Syria. To do this, we want to raise/send an additional $100,000.
2) Future settlement and ministry establishment. Once the “dust has settled”, we want to come beside our partners in Turkey and Syria and assist them in their resettlement in whichever town or village the Lord directs. We want to provide them with the means to reestablish the critical ministry that the Lord was doing through them before the earthquakes. The Lord has recently shown, throughout the Middle East, how He can be glorified through His church in the midst of worldly disaster. We are confident that the Lord will be glorified through our ministry partners in Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of the recent earthquakes. We are humbled by their service and look forward to seeing what the Lord will continue do through them. For this effort, we are aiming to raise/send $200,000
ReBridge is a 501(c)3 organization focused on enabling local leaders who are followers of Jesus to expand their ministry calling. We are a volunteer group, and as a result, 100% of the funds raised in this effort for Turkey and Syria will end up in the hands of our local partners.
